David Thompson

DAVID THOMPSON
David Thompson is a promising young midfielder who has been on the fringes of the Liverpool squad for several seasons. He was rewarded with a squad number for the 1996/97 season and made his debut as substitute against Arsenal in August 1996. Thompson has been a regular in the England U-18 team and received a call-up to the England U-21s in September 1996.

A debut as a substitute in the 0-0 draw with Poland was a fitting reward for the hard-running, powerful-tackling midfield dynamo who has been touted by many as an England player of the future.

Again in 98/99 David finds it hard to get into the top squad. He does come on as a sub but not very often. You will find him in the 11 man squad if Macca is out of action.
