Robbie Fowler

ROBBIE FOWLER
Like his immediate predecessor and later mentor, Ian Rush, Fowler grew up as an Everton supporter. However, it was Kenny Dalglish's Liverpool who obtained his signature. Fowler showed promise from early age and Dalglish always ensured he had the youngster on his side in the traditional Melwood 5-aside training games.
Fowler's first League goal came in the next game against Oldham and at the end of October he hit his first Liverpool hat-trick at home to Southampton.
Fowler rather surprisingly started the 1995/96 season on the bench as new signing Stan Collymore was given the chance to form a partnership with Ian Rush. However, an injury to Collymore soon gave Fowler his place back.
In 97/98 Fowler had a very bad season and only scoring a handful of goals. But Roy kept with him and played him. Reason for his bad form? Drug taking or the fact Owen was scoring more than him?. Later in the season he was to hurt his leg very badly and is set to miss half of the 98/99 season out.

Back from injury and is scoring goals left right and centre. Will he end up finishing with more goals then Owen?.
